Why does Pealo exist?
A calendar alert is a notification, and notifications obey the switches you set. Silent Mode, Focus and Do Not Disturb all mute them, which is why a reminder for a 9am call can arrive without making a sound. The usual workaround is a second alarm set by hand in the Clock app, which then sits at the wrong time the moment the meeting moves.
iOS 26 changed what an app is allowed to do. It introduced AlarmKit, the mechanism behind the built-in Clock app, and opened it to other apps. That was the first time a third-party app could schedule a real system alarm instead of a louder notification. Pealo was built on AlarmKit and went on the App Store on 18 August 2026.
What is Pealo today?
New, and iPhone only. It needs iOS 26.1 or later — AlarmKit arrived in iOS 26, and 26.1 is the version Pealo is built against — and the current release is 1.0.1. There are no App Store ratings yet, since the app was released on 18 August 2026. What it does is connect Google Calendar, Outlook and the iPhone Calendar app, set alarms for the events it finds, and move or cancel those alarms when a meeting moves or is called off. How is it paid for?
By subscription, and only by subscription: $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year, after a 7-day free trial. There are no ads, and your calendar data is not sold or passed to a data broker. Both plans and what the trial includes are set out on the Pealo pricing page, and everything the app collects is listed in the privacy policy.
How do you reach a person?
Write to support@pealo.app. One person reads it and replies, normally within one working day. The two common faults, an alarm that did not ring and a calendar that will not connect, are worked through step by step on the Pealo support page, and there is a message form on the contact page if you would rather not open your mail app.
What is next?
Four things are in development, each with a waiting list you can join: Pealo for iPad, the Mac app, Pealo for Android and a free web app in the browser. None of them has shipped and none has a price. The waiting lists exist so that nobody has to guess at a date, and so the first builds go to the people who asked for them.
